If you had a cast iron dutch oven would you be able to make this in the oven? If so what would you preheat it too?

Unfortunately in order for the pie to actually “bake” it will need heat from the bottom and top. A camping-style cast iron Dutch oven is really the only way to make this work. Sorry about that.
