Thanks for the feedback, Sarahbel. Yes, it definitely is a more simple chili recipe – we find that we make chili more often while fall camping so we don’t want to have to cook it for a long time since it gets cold in the evenings. But, your idea of making chili ahead and then bringing it along is a great solution. All the time-consuming work is done in the comfort of your warm kitchen, and then all you have to do is heat it up over the campfire!

It’s very basic, which is ok for camping I suppose, but it’s also easy to make and freeze chili ahead. Next time I’ll use my own chili recipe. The sweet potatoes baked nicely in the coals which we appreciated, and will do again!2 stars
